लोमश का पछतावा और आशीष
Listen, lord of birds, the sage was at no fault; Rāma, the ornament of the Raghus, was moving his heart. The merciful ocean clouded the sage's mind and tested the crow's love. Seeing Bhuśuṇḍi as his own in mind, speech and deed, and seeing the sage's great patience and his faith in Rāma's feet, the sage was very surprised and repented again and again. He called him with respect, was glad, gave him comfort in many ways, and gave him the Rāma mantra. He taught him to meditate on the child form of Rāma, the lovely, joy-giving form that pleased Bhuśuṇḍi, which he first told Garuḍa. The sage kept him a while and told him the Rāmacaritamānasa, then spoke these lovely words: this secret lake of Rāma's story I got by Śambhu's grace; knowing you to be Rāma's own devotee, I have told you all. Never tell this to those who have no devotion to Rāma. The sage explained in many ways, and Bhuśuṇḍi bowed to his feet. The sage touched his head with his lotus hand and blessed him gladly: unbroken devotion to Rāma will always live in your heart through my grace. Be ever dear to Rāma, a home of fine qualities, free of pride, able to take any form at will, a store of knowledge and dispassion. The place where you live and remember the Lord, ignorance will not touch for a league around.हे खगेश, सुनिए, मुनि का इसमें कोई दोष नहीं था; रघुवंश के विभूषण राम हृदय के प्रेरक थे। कृपा के सागर ने मुनि की बुद्धि को भोली करके मेरी प्रेम-परीक्षा ली। मुनि ने जब देखा कि मैं मन, वचन और कर्म से उनका अपना भक्त हूँ और मेरी महान शीलता और राम के चरणों में विश्वास है, तब वे बहुत विस्मित हुए और बार-बार पछताए। उन्होंने आदर से मुझे बुलाया, प्रसन्न होकर अनेक प्रकार से सांत्वना दी और राम का मंत्र दिया। बालक राम का ध्यान करने को कहा, जो सुन्दर, सुखद रूप मुझे बहुत भाया और जो मैंने पहले आपको सुनाया। मुनि ने मुझे कुछ समय अपने पास रखा और रामचरितमानस कहा, फिर ये सुहावनी बातें कहीं: यह रामचरित का गुप्त सरोवर मैंने शंभु की कृपा से पाया; तुम्हें राम का अपना भक्त जानकर मैंने सब बताया। जिनके हृदय में राम की भक्ति नहीं है, उनके पास यह कभी न कहना। मुनि ने मुझे अनेक प्रकार से समझाया और मैंने उनके चरणों में सिर नवाया। मुनि ने कमल जैसे हाथ से मेरे सिर को छूकर हर्ष से आशीर्वाद दिया: मेरी कृपा से तुम्हारे हृदय में अटूट राम-भक्ति सदा बसेगी। तुम सदा राम के प्रिय होगे, शुभ गुणों के घर, अभिमान से रहित, इच्छा से रूप धारण करने वाले, ज्ञान और वैराग्य के निधान। जिस आश्रम में तुम बसोगे और भगवान का स्मरण करोगे, वहाँ एक योजन तक अविद्या नहीं व्यापेगी।

Seeing that I was his own in mind, word and deed, and seeing my great patience and faith in Rāma's feet, the sage was very surprised and repented again and again.

बहुत विस्मित होकर और बार-बार पछताकर मुनि ने आदर से मुझे बुलाया। उन्होंने अनेक प्रकार से मुझे तृप्त किया और हर्षित होकर राम का मंत्र दिया।
Very surprised, repenting again and again, the sage called me with respect. He soothed me in many ways and gladly gave me the Rāma mantra.

४4बालकरूप राम कर ध्याना। कहेउ मोहि मुनि कृपानिधाना ॥सुंदर सुखद मिहि अति भावा। सो प्रथमहिं मैं तुम्हहि सुनावा ॥

The sage kept me with him for some time, and then told me the Rāmacaritamānasa. With love he told me this story, and then spoke these lovely words.

६6रामचरित सर गुप्त सुहावा। संभु प्रसाद तात मैं पावा ॥तोहि निज भगत राम कर जानी। ताते मैं सब कहेउँ बखानी ॥

जिनके हृदय में राम की भक्ति नहीं है, उनके पास यह कभी न कहना। मुनि ने मुझे अनेक प्रकार से समझाया और मैंने प्रेम से उनके चरणों में सिर नवाया।
Never tell it to those in whose hearts there is no devotion to Rāma. The sage explained to me in many ways, and I lovingly bowed my head at his feet.

८8निज कर कमल परसि मम सीसा। हरषित आसिष दीन्ह मुनीसा ॥राम भगति अबिरल उर तोरें। बसिहि सदा प्रसाद अब मोरें ॥
