Chapter 93·Rāvaṇa hurls the spear at Vibhīṣaṇa·Verses 1–
Rāvaṇa, seeing his heads multiply, forgets death and grows more angry; the proud fool roars and runs with ten bows drawn. On the field he rains arrows and hides Raghupati's chariot; for an hour it cannot be seen, as if the sun were hidden in mist. The gods cry in distress, and the Lord in anger takes up his bow and, turning aside the arrows, cuts off the enemy's heads, which fill the directions, earth and sky. The cut heads run through the sky making a cry of victory that causes fear, and call, 'Where are Lakṣmaṇa, Sugrīva, king of monkeys, where is Raghubīra, lord of Kosala?' Calling 'Where is Rāma?', the heads run, and the monkeys flee at the sight; the Raghu jewel draws his bow and pierces the heads with arrows, laughing. Bands of Kālikās hold garlands of heads and meet in crowds, as if going to worship the banyan of the battle after bathing in a river of blood. Then Rāvaṇa angrily hurls a terrible spear, which goes towards Vibhīṣaṇa like Death's staff.

Calling 'Where is Rāma?', the crowds of heads ran, and the monkeys fled at the sight. The jewel of the Raghu line strung his bow and laughingly pierced the heads with arrows. Bands of Kālikās took garlands of heads in their hands and met in crowds, as if, having bathed in a river of blood, they were going to worship the banyan of the battle.
