मंदोदरी का रुदन
Hanumān lifts the body without effort, sets it at the gate of Laṅkā and comes back. The gods and gandharvas hear of his death and come in their airships, rain flowers, play drums and sing Raghunātha's pure fame. They praise him as infinite, the support of the world, who has delivered all the gods. After their praise the gods and siddhas leave, and Lakṣmaṇa comes to the Lord of mercy. When Rāvaṇa hears of his son's death he swoons and falls to the ground. Mandodarī weeps loudly, striking her breast, and the people of the city are troubled, all calling Rāvaṇa a wretch. Then the ten-headed one comforts all the women in many ways: the form of the world is perishable, think of it in your heart.हनुमान सहज ही मेघनाद का शव उठाकर लंका के द्वार पर रख आते हैं और लौट आते हैं। उसकी मृत्यु सुनकर देवता और गंधर्व विमानों में चढ़कर आकाश में आते हैं, फूल बरसाते हैं, नगाड़े बजाते हैं और श्रीरघुनाथ का निर्मल यश गाते हैं। वे स्तुति करते हैं: हे अनंत, जगत के आधार, आपने सब देवताओं का उद्धार किया। स्तुति करके देवता और सिद्ध चले जाते हैं और लक्ष्मण कृपासिंधु के पास आते हैं। जब रावण ने पुत्र का वध सुना तो वह मूर्छित होकर धरती पर गिर पड़ा। मंदोदरी छाती पीटकर बहुत रोती और पुकारती है, नगर के सब लोग व्याकुल होकर सोचते हैं और सब रावण को नीच कहते हैं। तब रावण ने सब स्त्रियों को कई प्रकार से समझाया कि जगत का सब रूप नश्वर है, इसे हृदय में विचार कर देखो।

हनुमान ने बिना प्रयास उसे उठाया, लंका के द्वार पर रख दिया और लौट आए। उसकी मृत्यु सुनकर देवता और गंधर्व सब विमानों पर चढ़कर आकाश में आए।
Without effort Hanumān lifted him, set him at the gate of Laṅkā and came back. Hearing of his death, the gods and gandharvas all came into the sky in their airships.

वे फूल बरसाते, नगाड़े बजाते और श्रीरघुनाथ का निर्मल यश गाते थे। 'जय हो, जय हो, हे अनंत, जगत के आधार! हे प्रभु, आपने सब देवताओं का उद्धार किया।'
They rained flowers, played drums and sang Śrī Raghunātha's spotless fame. 'Victory, victory, O Infinite One, supporter of the world! You, Lord, have saved all the gods.'

३3अस्तुति करि सुर सिद्ध सिधाए। लछिमन कृपासिन्धु पहिं आए ॥सुत बध सुना दसानन जबहीं। मुरुछित भयउ परेउ महि तबहीं ॥

स्तुति करके देवता और सिद्ध चले गए; लक्ष्मण कृपा के सागर राम के पास आए। रावण ने जैसे ही पुत्र का वध सुना, वह मूर्छित होकर धरती पर गिर पड़ा।
Having praised him, the gods and siddhas went away; Lakṣmaṇa came to the ocean of mercy. As soon as Rāvaṇa heard of his son's death, he swooned and fell to the ground.

४4मंदोदरी रुदन कर भारी। उर ताड़न बहु भाँति पुकारी ॥नगर लोग सब ब्याकुल सोचा। सकल कहहिं दसकंधर पोचा ॥

मंदोदरी छाती पीटकर बहुत रोई और कई प्रकार से पुकारती रही। नगर के सब लोग व्याकुल होकर सोचने लगे और सब कहने लगे कि रावण नीच है।
Mandodarī wept loudly, striking her breast and crying out in many ways. The people of the city were troubled and anxious, and all said that Rāvaṇa was a wretch.

तब रावण ने सब स्त्रियों को कई प्रकार से समझाया: 'जगत का सब रूप नश्वर है। इसे हृदय में विचारकर देखो।'
