Kumbhakarṇa tells Rāvaṇa he has done wrong and that waking him now is of little use. Even now he should drop his pride and worship Rāma, and good will come. Rāma is a man whose servants include Hanumān, and Rāvaṇa has set himself against the Lord whom Śiva and Brahmā serve. He regrets that Rāvaṇa did not tell him earlier, recalls what the sage Nārada once taught him, and asks for one embrace from his brother. He wishes to go and see Rāma's dark, lotus-eyed form, which removes the three kinds of suffering. Dwelling on Rāma's form and qualities, he is lost in thought for a moment, then asks Rāvaṇa for a crore jars of wine and many buffaloes.कुंभकर्ण रावण से कहता है कि तूने ठीक नहीं किया, अब मुझे जगाने से क्या होगा। अब भी अभिमान छोड़कर राम को भज, तेरा कल्याण होगा। राम मनुष्य हैं जिनके सेवक हनुमान जैसे हैं, और तूने उन प्रभु से बैर किया है जिनके सेवक शिव और ब्रह्मा हैं। वह पछताता है कि रावण ने पहले उसे क्यों नहीं बताया, कहता है कि नारद मुनि ने जो ज्ञान दिया था उसे समय पर कहता, और भाई से एक बार गले लगने को कहता है। वह जाकर राम का श्याम शरीर और कमल जैसे नेत्र देखना चाहता है, जो तीनों तापों को हरते हैं। राम के रूप और गुणों को याद करके वह क्षण भर मग्न हो जाता है, फिर रावण से करोड़ घड़े मदिरा और बहुत से भैंसे माँगता है।
