सेतुबंध भीर
The bridge is strong and Rāma is pleased. The army moves out, with the monkeys roaring. Standing on the bridge, Rāma looks over the sea. To see him, all the creatures of the water come up, huge crocodiles, fish and snakes, some so big that others fear them. They gaze at the Lord and do not move, and so the water cannot be seen under them. With his leave, the army goes over. The crowd is so great that some monkeys fly through the sky and some walk over the backs of sea creatures.सेतु बहुत मज़बूत बना और राम को अच्छा लगा। सेना चल पड़ी, वानर गर्जते जाते हैं। सेतु के किनारे चढ़कर राम समुद्र का विस्तार देखते हैं। उन्हें देखने के लिए सब जलचर प्रकट होते हैं: बड़े मगर, मछलियाँ और साँप, कुछ इतने बड़े कि दूसरे उनसे डरते हैं। वे प्रभु को देखते रहते हैं, हटाए नहीं हटते, इसलिए उनके नीचे पानी दिखता ही नहीं। प्रभु की आज्ञा से सेना चल पड़ती है। भीड़ इतनी है कि कुछ वानर आकाश के मार्ग से उड़ जाते हैं और कुछ जलचरों की पीठ पर चढ़कर पार होते हैं।

सेतु के पास चढ़कर रघुराई ने कृपा से समुद्र के विस्तार को देखा। करुणा के भण्डार प्रभु को देखने के लिए सब जलचरों के झुण्ड प्रकट हो गए।
Climbing up beside the bridge, Raghurāī looked kindly over the wide sea. To let the Lord of compassion see them, all the creatures of the water came up in crowds.

३3मकर नक्र नाना झष ब्याला। सत जोजन तन परम बिसाला ॥अइसेउ एक तिन्हहि जे खाहीं। एकन्ह कें डर तेपि डेराहीं ॥

मगर, घड़ियाल, तरह-तरह की मछलियाँ और साँप थे, जिनके शरीर सौ-सौ योजन के और बहुत विशाल थे। कुछ ऐसे थे जो उन्हीं जैसे दूसरों को खा जाते और कुछ ऐसे थे जिनके डर से वे भी डरते थे।
There were sea monsters, crocodiles, fish of many kinds and serpents, their bodies a hundred leagues long and huge. Some were so big that they could eat others of that size, and even they were afraid of some that were bigger still.

४4प्रभुहि बिलोकहिं टरहिं न टारे। मन हरषित सब भए सुखारे ॥तिन्ह की ओट न देखिअ बारी। मगन भए हरि रूप निहारी ॥

वे प्रभु को देखते रहे, हटाने से भी नहीं हटते थे, और मन में प्रसन्न होकर सब सुखी हो गए। उनकी ओट से पानी दिखाई नहीं देता था और सब हरि का रूप निहारते हुए मग्न हो गए।
They looked at the Lord and would not be moved, and all of them were glad and happy. They were so many that no water could be seen, and all were lost in gazing at Hari's form.

सेतु पर बहुत भीड़ हुई तो वानर आकाश के मार्ग से उड़ने लगे। कुछ दूसरे जलचरों की पीठ पर चढ़-चढ़कर पार जाने लगे।
The crowd on the bridge was so great that the monkeys flew up through the sky. Others climbed on the backs of the water creatures and went across.
