Aṅgada bows to Rāma's feet and sets off, with the Lord's glory in his heart and no fear. As he enters the city he meets Rāvaṇa's son, who is playing. A quarrel grows from a word, and the two are equally strong and young. The son kicks at Aṅgada, who seizes his foot, swings him round and dashes him on the ground. The demons see this and scatter, unable even to cry out. They do not tell each other what happened, understanding that he is dead and staying silent. A great uproar rises in the city: the monkey who burned Laṅkā has come again. In fear they show him the way without being asked, and anyone he looks at dries up. Remembering Rāma's lotus feet, Aṅgada enters the court with the walk of a lion.
