Chapter 54·Satī sees Rāma everywhere·Verses 1–
Satī regrets that she did not heed Śaṅkara and put her own ignorance on Rāma; what answer can she give him now? A terrible burning rises in her heart. Rāma knew Satī was in pain and showed a little of his power. As she went she saw a wonder: ahead was Rāma with Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā. She looked behind and saw the Lord, with his brother and Sītā in fair dress. Wherever she looked, the Lord was seated, and perfected ones and clever sages served him. She saw many Śivas, Brahmās and Viṣṇus, each with more power than the last. She saw all the gods in many forms bowing at his feet and serving him. In the dohā, she saw countless unmatched Brahmānīs and Lakṣmīs; the gods from Brahmā on, each in the form fitted to his body.
