मंगलगान करहिं बर भामिनि
Fine women sang auspicious songs, and the night became lovely, a root of joy. Everyone rinsed his mouth, took betel, and was adorned with garlands and scent. Seeing Rāma and getting leave, they bowed and went to their own houses. The joy of love and fun, the time, the company and the loveliness cannot be told by a hundred Sarasvatīs and Śeṣas, the Vedas, Brahmā, Maheśa and Gaṇeśa; how then can I tell it? Can a worm carry the earth on its head, as the serpent does? The king honoured everyone in every way and called the queens with gentle words: 'The brides are children come into a stranger's house. Guard them as the eyelids guard the eyes. The boys are tired and drowsy; go and put them to bed.' So saying, the king went to his resting place, fixing his mind on Rāma's feet.सुन्दर स्त्रियाँ मंगल गान करती हैं और सुख का मूल मनोहर रात हो गई। सबने आचमन किया, पान पाया, और माला और सुगंध से सजे हुए सुन्दर छवि से छा गए। राम को देखकर और आज्ञा पाकर सब सिर नवाकर अपने-अपने घर चले। प्रेम, आनन्द और विनोद के बढ़ने का वह समय, समाज और मनोहरता — सैकड़ों सरस्वती, शेष, वेद, ब्रह्मा, महेश और गणेश भी नहीं कह सकते, तो मैं किस तरह उसका वर्णन करूँ? क्या कीड़ा पृथ्वी को सिर पर धर सकता है, जैसे शेषनाग धरते हैं? राजा ने सबका सब प्रकार से सम्मान किया और कोमल वचन कहकर रानियों को बुलाया — बधुएँ बालिकाएँ हैं, पराए घर आई हैं; इनकी रखवाली आँख की पलक की तरह करना। लड़के थके हैं और नींद के वश हैं; जाकर उन्हें सुला दो। ऐसा कहकर राजा राम के चरणों में चित्त लगाकर विश्राम-भवन चले गए।

राजा ने सबका सब प्रकार से सम्मान करके कोमल वचन कहकर रानियों को बुलाया — बधुएँ बालिकाएँ हैं, पराए घर आई हैं; इनकी रखवाली पलक की तरह आँखों की करना।
