Chapter 305·Gifts and the first meeting·Verses 1–
The king sends gold jars, trays and plates full of sweets as good as nectar, many fruits, jewels, clothes, birds, deer, horses and elephants as welcome gifts, along with auspicious and sweet-smelling things, curd and flattened rice. Porters carry them on shoulder-poles. When the welcoming party saw the procession, their hearts filled with joy and their bodies thrilled. Seeing their fine array, the procession's men beat their drums gladly. The two sides move forward eagerly to meet, like two seas of joy leaving their shores to join.
