Chapter 304·The road to Janakpur·Verses 1–
All lucky signs are easy for the man whose son is Brahman with form, and where the groom is Rāma, the bride Sītā, and the two fathers Daśaratha and Janaka. The omens dance and say Brahmā has now made them true. So the procession moves on to the roar of elephants, horses and drums. Hearing of the sun-clan banner coming, Janaka has bridges built over the rivers, and lodgings made along the way as splendid as the city of the gods. Food, beds and clothes please everyone, and the people of the procession, finding new comforts each day, forget their own homes. Hearing the drums, a welcoming party rides out with elephants, chariots, foot-soldiers and horses.
