होहिं सगुन सुंदर सुभदाता
The procession is too grand to describe, and the road shows every lucky sign. The blue jay is on the left, a crow on the right in good ground, the mongoose is seen by all, a wind blows from behind, and a woman comes with a full pot and a child. The fox keeps appearing, a cow feeds her calf face to face, a herd of deer crosses to the right, and the kṣemakarī bird, the dark bird in a good tree, curd, fish and two learned Brahmins with books all come in view. It is as if all the omens, being truthful, had come at once to make good the fortune promised.बारात का वर्णन करते नहीं बनता; रास्ते में सुन्दर और शुभ शकुन होते हैं। नीलकंठ बाईं ओर दाना चुगता है, मानो सब मंगल कह देता है। दाहिनी ओर शुभ खेत में कौआ सुहावना लगता है, सबको नेवला दिखता है, अनुकूल हवा बहती है और भरे घड़े तथा बालक के साथ श्रेष्ठ स्त्री आती है। लोमड़ी बार-बार दिखती है, गाय बछड़े को सामने दूध पिलाती है, मृगों का झुण्ड दाहिनी ओर आता है, छेमकरी पक्षी कुशल कहती है, श्यामा सुन्दर वृक्ष पर बाईं ओर दिखती है; दही, मछली और हाथ में पुस्तक लिए दो विद्वान ब्राह्मण सामने आते हैं। मानो सारे शकुन सच्चे होने के लिए एक साथ आ गए।

दाहिनी ओर अच्छे खेत में कौआ सुहावना लगा और सबको नेवला दिखाई दिया। अनुकूल हवा बह रही थी और एक भले घर की स्त्री भरा घड़ा और बालक लिए आई।
A crow on the right in a fine field looked lovely, and everyone saw a mongoose. A favourable breeze blew, and a good woman came with a full pot and a calf-fed child.

लोमड़ी बार-बार दिखाई दी और गाय सामने खड़ी होकर बछड़े को दूध पिलाने लगी। मृगों का झुण्ड दाहिनी ओर घूमकर आया, मानो मंगलों का समूह दिखा गया हो।
The fox came again and again in view, and a cow stood face to face and fed her calf. A herd of deer came round to the right, as if showing a company of blessings.

छेमकरी ने विशेष कुशल कहा और श्यामा पक्षी बाईं ओर सुन्दर वृक्ष पर दिखा। सामने दही और मछली आई, और हाथ में पुस्तक लिए दो योग्य ब्राह्मण आए।
The kṣemakarī bird announced great well-being, and a dark Śyāmā bird was seen on the left in a good tree. Curd and fish came before them, and two able Brahmins with books in their hands.
