The messengers say that on hearing it Paraśurāma came in anger and showed his eyes in many ways, but seeing Rāma's strength he gave him his own bow and, with much humility, left for the forest. Rāma is matchless in strength, and Lakṣmaṇa a treasure of brilliance; kings tremble at the sight of them, as elephants at a young lion's gaze. Seeing the two boys, Lord, no one now comes before their eyes. The messengers' words pleased the king, full of love, valour and heroic feeling. The whole court was moved and began to give the messengers gifts; those who spoke of wrong closed their ears, and all took pleasure in considering the right.
