Seeing the Lord, many kings lost heart, like stars when the moon rises. They felt sure Rāma would break the bow, or if not, Sītā would put her garland on him anyway, so they might as well go home. Other kings, blind with pride, laughed. They said that even with the bow broken the marriage would be hard, and without breaking it no one could be wed; even if Death came, they would win Sītā in battle. The wise and devout kings smiled at this, knowing Rāma would humble the proud, since no one can defeat Daśaratha's sons in battle.

Even if the great bow of Śiva is not broken, Sītā will put the garland on Rāma's heart. Thinking so, brothers, go home, losing your fame, prowess, strength and glory.
