Sītā says that serving Gaurī brings the four fruits easily, that she gives boons and is dear to Śiva, and that gods, men and sages are made happy by worshipping her feet. She says Gaurī knows her wish, since she dwells in every heart, and has not spoken it aloud; saying so she holds the goddess's feet. Won by her humble love, Bhavānī lets a garland slip from her image, which seems to smile.
