Chapter 195·The day that lasted a month·Verses 1–
Kaikeyī and Sumitrā too give birth to beautiful sons, and the joy and wealth of that time cannot be told even by Sarasvatī or the king of serpents. Ayodhyā looks as if Night had come to meet the Lord; seeing the sun she is shy, yet she takes the look of evening. The incense is like darkness, the red powder like the glow of dusk, the jewels in the houses like stars, and the golden pot on the palace like the moon. Hearing the Vedas chanted softly, the sun forgets himself and does not notice a month pass. One day lasts a month, no one knows the secret, and the sun stands still with his chariot.

Kaikeyī and Sumitrā too gave birth to beautiful sons. The joy, wealth, occasion and gathering of that time not even Sarasvatī or the king of serpents could describe.

Ayodhyā shone in this way, as if Night herself had come to meet the Lord. Seeing the sun, she seemed shy in her mind, yet she took on the look of evening.

The abundant incense of aloe was like darkness, and the red powder flying up was like the red glow of dusk. The jewels in the houses were like stars, and the pot on top of the king's palace was like the bright moon.

The chanting of the Vedas in the houses, in very soft voices, was like the chirping of birds at the right hour. Seeing the wonder, the sun forgot himself and did not notice a month pass.
