नौमी तिथि मधु मास
It is the ninth day of the holy month of Madhu, in the bright fortnight, under the star Abhijit that Hari loves. It is midday, neither cold nor hot, a time of rest for the worlds. A cool, gentle, fragrant breeze blows, the gods and saints are glad, the forests bloom, the hills shine with jewels and the rivers run with nectar. Brahmā knows the moment and all the gods set out in their celestial cars. The sky fills with them, the gandharvas sing, flowers rain and drums sound. After they have made their petition and gone home, the Lord, home of the world and rest of all worlds, appears.मधु मास, यानी चैत्र, की पवित्र शुक्ल नवमी है; अभिजित मुहूर्त है, जो हरि को प्रिय है। मध्याह्न का समय है, न बहुत ठंड न धूप, लोकों को विश्राम देने वाला पावन काल। शीतल, मंद, सुगंधित हवा बहती है; देवता और संत प्रसन्न हैं; वन फूले हुए हैं, पर्वतों पर मणि चमक रहे हैं और सब नदियाँ अमृत की धारा बहा रही हैं। ब्रह्मा उस अवसर को जानकर चले और सब देवता विमान सजाकर निकले। आकाश देवताओं के झुंडों से भर गया, गंधर्व गुण गाने लगे, फूलों की वर्षा हुई और नगाड़े बजे। देवता विनती करके अपने-अपने धाम चले गए और जगत के निवास, सब लोकों के विश्राम प्रभु प्रकट हुए।

शीतल, मंद, सुगंधित वायु बह रही थी। देवता हर्षित थे और संतों के मन में उत्साह था। वन फूले हुए थे, पर्वतों पर मणि चमक रहे थे, और सब नदियाँ अमृत की धारा बहा रही थीं।
A cool, gentle, fragrant breeze blew. The gods were glad and the saints' minds full of delight. The forests blossomed, the hills shone with jewels, and all the rivers ran with streams of nectar.

३3सो अवसर बिरंचि जब जाना। चले सकल सुर साजि बिमाना ॥गगन बिमल सकुल सुर जूथा। गावहिं गुन गंधर्ब बरूथा ॥

जब ब्रह्मा ने वह अवसर जाना, तो सब देवता विमान सजाकर चल पड़े। निर्मल आकाश देवताओं के झुंडों से भर गया और गंधर्वों के दल गुण गाने लगे।
When Brahmā knew that the moment had come, all the gods set out in decorated celestial cars. The clear sky was crowded with throngs of gods, and bands of gandharvas sang his praises.

वे अंजलि में सजाकर फूल बरसाने लगे और आकाश में नगाड़े गड़गड़ाकर बजे। नाग, मुनि और देवता स्तुति करने लगे और अपनी-अपनी सेवा अनेक प्रकार से अर्पित करने लगे।
They rained flowers from handfuls arranged in their folded hands, and drums sounded loudly in the sky. Nāgas, sages and gods offered praise and each brought his own service in many ways.
