'In this way, king, with very little trouble, all the brahmins will be under your control. Brahmins will perform fire-offerings, sacrifices and service, and by that the gods will come easily under your control. And I tell you one more thing: I shall not come in this dress. Your priest, king, I will bring by my illusion. By the power of austerity I will make him like myself and keep him here for a year. I shall take his form, listen, king, and arrange all your work in every way. The night has gone far; now lie down. You and I will meet on the third day. By my power I will bring you with your horse to your home while you sleep. I shall come in that form, and you will know me by this sign: when I call you apart and tell the whole story.''हे राजन्, इस प्रकार बहुत थोड़े कष्ट से सब ब्राह्मण तुम्हारे वश में हो जाएँगे। ब्राह्मण होम, यज्ञ और सेवा करेंगे, और उसी प्रसंग से देवता भी सहज ही वश में आ जाएँगे। और एक बात मैं तुम्हें बताता हूँ: मैं इस वेश में नहीं आऊँगा। हे राजन्, तुम्हारे पुरोहित को मैं अपनी माया से लाऊँगा। तपोबल से उसे अपने जैसा बनाकर साल भर यहाँ रखूँगा। हे राजन्, सुनो, मैं उसका वेश धरकर सब प्रकार से तुम्हारा काम सँवारूँगा। रात बहुत बीत गई, अब सो जाओ। हे भूप, तीसरे दिन मेरी-तुम्हारी भेंट होगी। मैं तपोबल से तुम्हें घोड़े समेत सोते हुए ही तुम्हारे घर पहुँचा दूँगा। मैं वही वेश धरकर आऊँगा; जब मैं एकान्त में बुलाकर तुम्हें सारी कथा सुनाऊँ, तब मुझे पहचान लेना।'
