ब्राह्मण भोज की योजना

Knowing the king was under his control, the cunning ascetic said: 'I tell you the truth, king: nothing in the world is hard for me. I will surely do your work; you are mine in mind, body and speech. But yoga, devices, austerity and spells work only if they are done in secret. If I cook a meal, king, and you serve it to me with no one knowing, then whoever eats that food will obey your order. And again, whoever eats at their houses will come under your control, listen. King, make this plan: take a vow for a year. Invite a hundred thousand brahmins every day with their families, and for the sake of your vow I shall come in secret and cook the meal.' राजा को अपने अधीन जानकर कपट में प्रवीण तपस्वी बोला, 'हे राजन्, मैं तुमसे सत्य कहता हूँ, संसार में मुझे कुछ दुर्लभ नहीं है। मैं अवश्य तुम्हारा काम करूँगा; तुम मन, तन और वचन से मेरे भक्त हो। योग, युक्ति, तप और मंत्र का प्रभाव तभी फलता है जब उसे छिपाकर किया जाए। हे नरेश, यदि मैं रसोई बनाऊँ और तुम परोसो, और मुझे कोई न जाने, तो उस अन्न को जो-जो खाएगा, वह तुम्हारी आज्ञा का अनुसरण करेगा। और फिर जो उनके घरों में भोजन करेगा, वह भी तुम्हारे वश में होगा, सुनो। हे राजन्, यह उपाय रचो: साल भर का संकल्प करो। प्रतिदिन एक लाख ब्राह्मणों को कुटुंब सहित निमंत्रित करो, और मैं तुम्हारे संकल्प के लिए छिपकर भोजन बनाने आऊँगा।'
