मोर सोचु जनि करिअ
Sītā says: I have seen my father's splendour, where kings bow their jewelled crowns at his footstool. Such a father's house is full of comfort, but without my dear one it does not please my mind even for a moment. My father-in-law is emperor of Kosala, whose power is famed over the fourteen worlds; Indra himself comes before him and he gives him half his throne. Such is my father-in-law, with my family dear and my mother-in-law like a mother; yet without the dust of the lotus feet of Raghupati, nothing, even in a dream, seems pleasant to me. The way is hard, the forest and the hills, elephants, lions, lakes and countless rivers, Kols, Kirātas, deer and birds; yet all are pleasant to me with my lord beside me. Plead with my in-laws on my behalf and fall at their feet; let them not worry about me, for I am happy in the forest by nature.सीता कहती हैं: मैंने पिता का वैभव और विलास देखा है, जहाँ राजाओं के मुकुट के मणि उनके पद-पीठ से लगते हैं। ऐसे सुख के भंडार पिता का घर भी प्रियतम के बिना मेरे मन को क्षण भर नहीं भाता। ससुर कोसल के चक्रवर्ती राजा हैं, जिनका प्रभाव चौदह भुवनों में प्रकट है; इन्द्र सामने आता है तो वे उसे आधा सिंहासन देते हैं। ऐसा ससुर, अयोध्या का निवास, प्रिय परिवार और माता समान सास, फिर भी रघुपति के चरण-कमल की धूल के बिना मुझे सपने में भी कुछ सुखद नहीं लगा। मार्ग कठिन है, वनभूमि और पहाड़ हैं, हाथी, सिंह, सरोवर और अपार नदियाँ, कोल, भील, हिरन और पक्षी हैं; पर प्राणपति के साथ ये सब मुझे सुखद हैं। सास-ससुर के पास जाकर मेरी ओर से विनती करना और चरणों में पड़ना; मेरी चिंता न करें, मैं स्वभाव से वन में सुखी हूँ।
