Chapter 93·Waking from the world's dream·Verses 1–
Lakṣmaṇa tells Guha not to be angry or blame anyone without cause. All are asleep in the night of delusion and see many dreams. In this night only yogis wake, those who seek the highest and are free from worldly show. A soul should be known as awake only when it turns away from pleasure and enjoyment. When discernment arises, delusion and confusion flee, and then there is love for Raghunātha's feet. This is the highest truth, dear friend: love for Rāma's feet in mind, deed and word. Rāma is the Brahman, the highest reality, unknown, invisible, without beginning and without equal, free of every change, without difference, whom the Vedas call 'not this, not this'. For the sake of devotees, the earth, brahmans, cows and gods, he is kind, takes a human body and acts, and hearing of his deeds destroys the world's snare.

In this night of the world only the yogis stay awake, who seek the highest and are free of the world's show. Know a soul to be awake only when it is free of desire for pleasure and enjoyment.

For his devotees, the earth, brahmans, cows and gods, the Merciful One takes a human body and acts; hearing of his deeds, the world's net is torn away.
