बरष चारिदस बिपिन बसि
Dear one, I give myself for you, go quickly and bathe, and eat whatever sweet thing you like. Then go to your father, my son; it is late already. Hearing the mother's words, so kind, like flowers of the wish-tree of love, full of the honey of joy and the Lakṣmī-blossom, Rāma's mind, seeing them, was not led astray like a bee. Knowing the way of dharma, he said to his mother in a very gentle voice: Mother, my father has given me the forest to rule, where I shall have great work in every way. Mother, give me leave with a glad mind, so that I may go to the forest in joy and blessing. Do not fear out of love, by mistake; it is joy for me, Mother, by your favour. Having lived fourteen years in the forest and kept my father's word, I shall come and see your feet again. Do not let your heart grow dim.माता ने कहा: बेटा, मैं बलि जाऊँ, जल्दी नहा ले और जो मन भाए वह मधुर कुछ खा ले। तब पिता के पास जाना, बेटा; बहुत देर हो गई है। माता के ये वचन सुनकर, जो अत्यन्त अनुकूल थे और प्रेम के कल्पवृक्ष के फूलों जैसे थे, जो सुख के रस से और लक्ष्मी रूपी मूल से भरे थे, उन्हें देखकर भी राम का मन भौंरे की तरह नहीं भूला। धर्म की धुरी सँभालने वाले राम ने धर्म की गति जानकर माता से बहुत कोमल वाणी में कहा: माँ, पिताजी ने मुझे वन का राज्य दिया है, जहाँ हर प्रकार से मेरा बड़ा काम है। माँ, प्रसन्न मन से आज्ञा दे, जिससे वन जाते हुए मुझे आनन्द और मंगल हो। भूलकर भी स्नेह के वश मत डरना; माँ, तेरी कृपा से मुझे आनन्द है। चौदह वर्ष वन में रहकर पिता का वचन प्रमाण करके, फिर आकर तेरे चरण देखूँगा; तू मन उदास न करना।

'बेटा, मैं बलि जाऊँ; जल्दी नहा ले और जो मन को भाए वह मधुर कुछ खा ले। तब पिता के पास जाना, भैया। बहुत देर हो गई है, मैं तुझ पर बलि जाऊँ।'
