Rāma says the guru's grace is the protector of both his and Bharata's company, at home and in the forest. The order of mother, father, guru and master is the Śeṣa that bears the earth of all dharma. He asks Bharata to do it and make him do it, and to be the protector of the sun's line. That obedience is the one means that grants all attainments, a triple stream of fame, a good end and prosperity. Thinking of it, Bharata should bear this heavy trouble and make the people and family happy. The calamity has been shared among all, but for Bharata the whole term is hard. Rāma speaks harshly knowing Bharata is gentle, and says his words are not improper at a bad time. In a bad place good brothers help, as hands are raised against the blows of a thunderbolt. The servant is like hands, feet and eyes, and the master like the mouth; hearing this way of love, good poets praise it.
