Bharata says Rāma's way, fair speech and greatness are known to the world and sung in the Vedas and scriptures. Cruel, crooked, wicked, ill-minded, branded, low, shameless, godless, fearless people, hearing of him, come before him in refuge, and he takes them in at one bow. Seeing their faults he never keeps them in his heart; hearing their virtues he tells them in the assembly of the good. What master favors a servant and himself prepares all the means for him? He does not once think of his own part, and it is the servant who is shy and worried. Bharata says there is no other such master, and he raises his arm and says it as his vow. Animals dance and parrots read the lesson because of their teacher and showman. There is no other such master; I raise my arm and say it, staking my word. An animal dances and a parrot is skilled in its lesson, but their skill and movements depend on the showman and the teacher.
