Bharata says Rāma is for him father, mother, friend, guru and master, venerable, the best well-wisher and the knower of hearts. Rāma is simple, a good master, a treasury of gentleness, protector of the refuge-seeker, all-knowing and wise; capable, kind to those who come to him, a lover of virtue and destroyer of faults and sins. There is no master like his master, and no one but himself is like himself. Pushing aside his lord's and father's word in delusion, he gathered the company and came here. The world has good and bad, high and low, nectar and poison, but no one has ever seen or heard of anyone undoing Rāma's command in his mind. Bharata did all that boldly, and Rāma took it as love and service. By his kindness the Lord made Bharata's faults into ornaments and spread a lovely fame on all sides.भरत कहते हैं कि राम मेरे पिता, माता, सुहृद, गुरु और स्वामी हैं, पूज्य, परम हितैषी और अन्तर्यामी। वे सरल, सुस्वामी, शील के निधान, शरणागत के रक्षक, सर्वज्ञ और सुजान हैं। समर्थ, शरण में आए का हित करने वाले, गुण के ग्राहक और अवगुण तथा पाप हरने वाले। मेरे स्वामी के समान स्वामी नहीं, और मुझ जैसा मैं ही हूँ, स्वामी की शपथ। मैंने मोह के वश प्रभु और पिता के वचन को ठेलकर समाज बटोरकर यहाँ आ गया। जगत में भला-बुरा, ऊँच-नीच, अमृत-अमरपद और विष-मृत्यु हैं, पर राम की आज्ञा को मन में मिटाने वाला किसी ने कहीं देखा-सुना नहीं। वह सब मैंने सब प्रकार से ढिठाई की, और प्रभु ने उसे स्नेह और सेवा माना। प्रभु ने कृपा करके मेरी बुराई को भलाई कर दिया; दोष भूषण के समान हो गए और सुन्दर यश चारों ओर फैला।
