The gods remember and praise Sarasvatī, asking her to turn Bharata's mind with her illusion and so protect the family of the gods. The wise goddess, knowing the gods' selfishness is blind, says that even a thousand-eyed Indra cannot see Sumeru. The great illusion of Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Śiva cannot even look at Bharata's mind, and they ask her to act on it, as if moonlight could rob the fierce sun. Sītā and Rāma live in Bharata's heart, and where the sun shines there can be no darkness. Saying so, Sarasvatī goes to Brahmā's world, and the gods are distraught like cakravāka birds at night. The selfish gods with dirty minds make an evil plan and weave a strong illusion of fear, confusion, restlessness and disquiet.
