भरत बिनय सादर सुनिअ
The sage says that the afflicted never speak after thought, as a gambler sees only his own throw. Hearing him, Rāma says, 'Lord, the remedy is in your hands. The good of all lies in keeping your wish; I am glad to speak the truth under your command. Whatever order I am given first, I will take on my head and follow that teaching; then whatever you tell each person, Lord, they will fully fit their service to it.' The sage says, 'Rāma, you speak the truth, but you have not kept Bharata's love in view. That is why I say it again and again: my mind is held by Bharata's devotion. As I see it, whatever is done keeping Bharata's wish is good, and Śiva is witness. Listen with respect to Bharata's request and think again; then do what agrees with the good, with the world, and with the king's policy, wrung out of the Vedas.'मुनि ने कहा कि दुखी लोग कभी विचार करके नहीं बोलते, जैसे जुआरी को अपनी ही चाल सूझती है। मुनि के वचन सुनकर रघुराज बोले, 'नाथ, उपाय आपके ही हाथ में है। आपका रुख रखने में सबका हित है; आपकी आज्ञा मानकर प्रसन्न होकर सच कहता हूँ। पहले जो आज्ञा मुझे हो, उस शिक्षा को माथे पर मानकर करूँगा; फिर हे गोसाईं, जिसे जैसा आप कहेंगे, उसकी सेवा वैसी ही सब प्रकार से ठीक बैठेगी।' मुनि ने कहा, 'राम, तुमने सच कहा, पर भरत के स्नेह में तुमने विचार नहीं रखा। इसीलिए मैं बार-बार कहता हूँ कि भरत की भक्ति के वश मेरी मति हो गई है। मेरे विचार में भरत की रुचि रखकर जो भी किया जाए, वह शुभ है; शिव साक्षी हैं। भरत की विनय आदर से सुनिए और फिर विचार कीजिए; वही कीजिए जो साधुओं के मत, लोक के मत और राजनीति से मेल खाए, वेदों का निचोड़ निकालकर।'

आपका रुख रखने में सबका हित है; आपकी आज्ञा मानकर मैं प्रसन्न होकर सच कहता हूँ। पहले जो आज्ञा मुझे हो, उस शिक्षा को माथे पर मानकर करूँगा।
The good of all lies in keeping your wish; if I follow your order I speak the truth gladly. Whatever order I am given first, I will take on my head and follow that teaching.

३3पुनि जेहि कहँ जस कहब गोसाईँ। सो सब भाँति घटिहि सेवकाईँ ॥कह मुनि राम सत्य तुम्ह भाषा। भरत सनेहँ बिचारु न राखा ॥

फिर हे गोसाईं, जिसे जैसा आप कहेंगे, उसकी सेवा सब प्रकार से वैसी ही ठीक बैठेगी।' मुनि ने कहा, 'राम, तुमने सच कहा, पर भरत के स्नेह में तुमने विचार नहीं रखा।
Then, Lord, whatever you tell each person, their service will fit it in every way.' The sage said, 'Rāma, you speak the truth, but you did not keep Bharata's love in view.

४4तेहि तें कहउँ बहोरि बहोरी। भरत भगति बस भइ मति मोरी ॥मोरेँ जान भरत रुचि राखि। जो कीजिअ सो सुभ सिव साखी ॥
