सीलु सनेह निबाहनिहारा
Rāma's boyhood friends, hearing of the anointing, came glad to him in ones and twos. Rāma honoured them, saw their love and asked their welfare gently. They went home with his leave, praising him to one another: Who in the world is like Raghuvīr, who keeps faith and love? Whatever birth our deeds make us wander into, may the Lord be our master Sītā's husband, and may this bond last to the end. Such was the wish of the whole city. Only Kaikeyī's heart burned. Who is not ruined by bad company? Craft does not stay in the low-minded. At that hour the king went cheerfully to Kaikeyī's house, as if cruelty took a body of love and came near.राम के बचपन के मित्र अभिषेक की बात सुनकर प्रसन्न हृदय से दो-पाँच मिलकर राम के पास जाते हैं। प्रभु उनके प्रेम को पहचानकर आदर करते हैं और कोमल वाणी में कुशल-क्षेम पूछते हैं। वे प्रिय आज्ञा पाकर घर लौटते हुए आपस में राम की बड़ाई करते हैं: संसार में रघुवीर जैसा कौन है, जो शील और स्नेह निभाने वाला हो? हम कर्मवश जिस-जिस योनि में भटकें, वहाँ-वहाँ ईश्वर हमें यही दे कि हम सेवक हों और सीतापति स्वामी, और यह नाता अन्त तक निभे। नगर में सबकी यही अभिलाषा थी। केवल कैकेयी के हृदय में बड़ी जलन थी। कुसंगति पाकर कौन नष्ट नहीं होता? नीच की सलाह से चतुराई टिकती नहीं। उसी समय आनन्द सहित राजा कैकेयी के घर गए, मानो निष्ठुरता ने प्रेम का शरीर धर कर निकट गमन किया हो।

Hearing the news, the boyhood friends came gladly in twos and fives to Rāma. The Lord honoured them, knowing their love, and asked of their welfare in a gentle voice.

प्रिय आज्ञा पाकर वे घर लौटते हुए आपस में राम की बड़ाई करते हैं: 'संसार में रघुवीर जैसा कौन है, जो शील और स्नेह निभाने वाला हो?
Getting their dear leave, they return home, praising Rāma to one another: 'Who in the world is like Raghuvīr, a keeper of goodness and love?

३3जेंहि जेंहि जोनि करम बस भ्रमहीं। तहँ तहँ ईसु देउ यह हमहीं ॥सेवक हम स्वामी सियनाहू। होउ नात यह ओर निबाहू ॥

हम कर्मवश जिस-जिस योनि में भटकें, वहाँ-वहाँ ईश्वर हमें यही दे कि हम सेवक हों और सीता के पति स्वामी, और यह नाता अन्त तक निभे।'
Whatever birth our deeds make us wander into, there may God give us this: that we be servants and Sītā's husband our master, and may this tie hold to the end.'

४4अस अभिलाषु नगर सब काहू। कैकयसुता हृदयँ अति दाहू ॥को न कुसंगति पाइ नसाई। रहइ न नीच मतें चतुराई ॥
asa abhilāṣu nagara saba kāhū kaikayasutā hṛdayam̐ ati dāhū |ko na kusaṃgati pāi nasāī rahai na nīca mateṃ caturāī ||

नगर में सबकी यही अभिलाषा थी। केवल कैकेयी के हृदय में बड़ी जलन थी। कुसंगति पाकर कौन नष्ट नहीं होता? नीच की सलाह से चतुराई टिकती नहीं।
Such was the wish of every person in the city. Only Kaikeyī's heart burned hot. Who is not ruined by bad company? Cleverness does not last in a low mind.
