Chapter 226·Sītā's dream; news of the army·Verses 1–
सपन
The whole company is slack with love for Raghubar. They go two kos at the sun's decline, see water and land, and stop for the night, and set out again at the night's end. At Citrakūṭa, in the last part of the night, Rāma wakes. Sītā has seen a dream: Bharata had come with the company, their bodies burnt by separation from the Lord. All were dirty and sorrowful, and she saw her mothers-in-law with changed faces. Hearing it, Sītā's eyes fill with tears and Rāma, the remover of worry, becomes anxious. He says to Lakṣmaṇa that the dream is not good and someone will bring a hard evil word. He bathes with his brother, worships Śiva and honours the sages. Then they sit looking north; the sky is full of dust and birds and animals flee. At that moment Kirātas and Kols arrive and tell everything, and hearing the good news Rāma's body thrills and his lotus eyes fill with love.

Tulsī says, when they rose and looked for the cause, they stayed astonished in mind. At that moment Kirātas and Kols came and told them all the news.
