Chapter 103·Sītā prays to the Gaṅgā·Verses 1–दोहा 103
सुरसरिहि कहेउ कर जोरी
Rāma bathed in the Gaṅgā, made an earth-lingam and worshipped, bowing his head. Sītā folded her hands and said to the river: Mother, fulfil my wish. Let me come back safe with my husband and brother-in-law and worship you. Hearing Sītā's loving prayer, a voice rose, clear, from the water: Listen, dear wife of Raghubīr, who in the world does not know your power? The guardians of the world become so by looking at you, and all powers serve you with folded hands. You have spoken humbly to me, and I take it as a favour and honour; yet, goddess, I will bless you, to make my own speech true. The dohā: with your lord and brother-in-law you will come back safe to Kosala, and all your wishes will be fulfilled, and your fair name will fill the world.तब रघुकुल के नाथ ने स्नान किया, पार्थिव शिवलिंग की पूजा की और माथा नवाया। सीता ने हाथ जोड़कर गंगा से कहा: माता, मेरा मनोरथ पूरा करना। पति और देवर सहित कुशल से लौटकर मैं आपकी पूजा करूँ। सीता की प्रेम-रस में सनी विनती सुनकर गंगा के निर्मल जल से श्रेष्ठ वाणी हुई: हे रघुवीर की प्रिया वैदेही, सुनो, तुम्हारा प्रभाव जगत में किससे छिपा है? तुम्हें देखने से लोकपाल बन जाते हैं, सब सिद्धियाँ हाथ जोड़कर तुम्हारी सेवा करती हैं। तुमने जो मुझसे बड़ी विनती की, उससे मुझ पर कृपा हुई और बड़ाई मिली; फिर भी देवी, मैं अपनी वाणी सफल करने के लिए आशीर्वाद दूँगी। दोहा: प्राणनाथ और देवर सहित तुम कुशल से कोसल लौटोगी, तुम्हारी सब मनोकामनाएँ पूरी होंगी और सुयश जगत में फैलेगा।

तब रघुकुल के नाथ ने स्नान करके पार्थिव शिवलिंग की पूजा की और सिर नवाया। सीता ने हाथ जोड़कर देवनदी से कहा, 'माता, मेरा मनोरथ पूरा करना।
Then Raghukula's lord bathed, worshipped an earth-lingam, and bowed his head. Sītā folded her hands and said to the river of the gods: 'Mother, fulfil my wish.

२2पति देवर संग कुसल बहोरी। आइ करौं जेहिं पूजा तोरी ॥सुनि सिय बिनय प्रेम रस सानी। भइ तब बिमल बारि बर बानी ॥

पति और देवर सहित कुशल से लौटकर मैं आपकी पूजा करूँ।' सीता की प्रेम-रस में सनी विनती सुनकर निर्मल जल से श्रेष्ठ वाणी हुई।
Let me come back safe with my husband and brother-in-law, and worship you.' Hearing Sītā's prayer, soaked in love, a fine voice came from the clear water.

३3सुनु रघुबीर प्रिया बैदेही। तव प्रभाउ जग बिदित न केही ॥लोकप होहिं बिलोकत तोरें। तोहि सेवहिं सब सिधि कर जोरें ॥

'हे रघुवीर की प्रिया वैदेही, सुनो: जगत में तुम्हारा प्रभाव किससे छिपा है? तुम्हें देखने से लोकपाल बन जाते हैं, सब सिद्धियाँ हाथ जोड़कर तुम्हारी सेवा करती हैं।

४4तुम्ह जो हमहि बड़ि बिनय सुनाई। कृपा कीन्हि मोहि दीन्हि बड़ाई ॥तदपि देबि मैं देबि असीसा। सफल होपन हित निज बागीसा ॥

तुमने जो मुझसे बड़ी विनती की, इससे तुमने मुझ पर कृपा की और बड़ाई दी। फिर भी देवी, मैं अपनी वाणी सफल करने के लिए तुम्हें आशीर्वाद दूँगी।
You made me a great plea, and so you showed me favour and gave me honour. Still, goddess, I will give you my blessing, to make my own speech come true.
