Rāma, lord of all and beyond the qualities, shows the weakness of the lustful and strengthens the detachment of the steady. Anger, lust, greed, pride and māyā all go by his mercy. A man is not fooled by the magic show if the juggler favours him. Umā, says Śiva, I speak from my own experience: worshipping Hari is true, and the world is all a dream. Then the Lord reaches the shore of the lake Pampā, lovely and deep. Its water is clear like the heart of a saint, with four lovely ghats built. Many kinds of deer drink there as beggars crowd the house of a giver. The lotus leaves hide the water so its secret is not easily found, as Brahman cannot be seen when veiled by māyā. The fish are happy in the same way, in deep water, as the days of the righteous pass in joy.गुणों से परे, चर-अचर के स्वामी अन्तर्यामी राम कामियों को उनकी दीनता दिखाते हैं और धीर जनों के मन में वैराग्य दृढ़ करते हैं। क्रोध, काम, लोभ, मद और माया सब राम की दया से छूट जाते हैं। वह मनुष्य इन्द्रजाल में नहीं भूलता जिस पर नट अनुकूल हो। हे उमा, शिव कहते हैं, मैं अपना अनुभव कहता हूँ: हरि का भजन सत्य है और सारा जगत स्वप्न। फिर प्रभु पंपा नाम के सुन्दर और गहरे सरोवर के तीर पहुँचे। उसका जल संत के हृदय की तरह निर्मल है; चारों ओर सुन्दर घाट बँधे हैं। वहाँ अनेक प्रकार के मृग जल पीते हैं मानो उदार गृहस्थ के घर याचकों की भीड़ हो। कमल के पत्तों की ओट में जल जल्दी नहीं दिखता, उसका भेद जल्दी नहीं मिलता, जैसे माया से ढके निर्गुण ब्रह्म को नहीं देखा जाता। गहरे जल में मछलियाँ सब एक-सी सुखी हैं, जैसे धर्मशीलों के दिन सुख में बीतते हैं।

Rāma is beyond the qualities, lord of all that moves and does not, and knows every heart. He shows the poverty of those ruled by desire, and strengthens the detachment of the steady.

The water is hidden by lotus leaves and its secret is not quickly found, just as the Brahman without qualities cannot be seen when covered by māyā.
