What does reciting the Narada-revealed Ganapati Stotram for six months accomplish?
For general seekers, reciting the Ganapati Stotram revealed by Devarshi Narada in the Narada Purana for six months fulfills all desires — including progeny, wealth, and knowledge.
What was Sati's attitude to Shiva from the beginning?
From the very start there was prem bhava for Bhagavan Shiva in Bhagavati Sati's mind, and from the start she used to remember Bhagavan Shiva through various kinds of bhajans. When she grew up, Brahma went to Daksha Prajapati's house — and Narad also went with him.
What did Brahma remind Narad of about the visit to Daksha's house?
Brahma tells Narad: you had gone with me to Daksha Prajapati's house, and we sat there, and thereafter Daksha Prajapati offered us honour and hospitality. Then Sati came, and since she had grown up, Brahma spoke to her.
How did Narad raise the question of the separation?
Narad asks in what manner the separation came about between Bhagavati Sati and Shiva. Brahma says such a thing can never happen, that the two of them should be separated — the two are one and the same. But the leela has been placed there, following the ways of loka vyavahar.
Sankat Nashan Ganapati Stotram as a new sadhak's first Ganpati sadhana
The speaker says a new Sadhak should, with eyes closed, take as his first sadhana for Ganpati the Sankat Nashan Stotra given in the Narada Purana. By doing it, he says, not only is Ganpati's Kripa obtained, Tapo-bala accumulated and Prarabdha destroyed, but, as the stotra itself states, the kamana for which it is recited is also fulfilled. The full vidhi-vidhan of the anushthan, he says, is given separately on his channel.
God takes away the ahankar of whoever holds it, Brahma himself not excepted, as he did in the katha of Narad moha.
Because when anyone comes to have ahankar, God takes that ahankar away, even if it be Brahma himself. Last time, he reminds listeners, they heard the katha of Narad moha: when Narad's moha grew, his moha was taken. When Brahma too, thinking himself the vidhata, makes ahankar, the Parabrahma Parameshwar composes a leela to remove it. Brahma came to have a great deal of ahankar.
Why Kartikeya left Kailash for Krauncha mountain in the south
The speaker says that when Kartikeya returned from the earth parikrama, Narada — made the sutradhar before every great event, which is why he is called the mind of Bhagavan — told him by Shiva's inspiration that his parents had used the parikrama as a pretext to marry Ganesha, who now had two wives and two sons. Kartikeya bowed to his parents in anger, renounced Kailash despite their pleas, and went south to Krauncha mountain, where he remained Kumar for ever; the name Kumar destroys sins and grants Brahmacharya. The speaker calls the whole leela a matter of deep secrecy: it laid the foundation for the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, was tied to Shiva's tasks against the three sons of Tarakasura at the Tripura slaying, and was a device to send Kartikeya south, for otherwise the asuras rampant there would have kept harming Sanatan — which is why he is in the south even today.
Which chapter of the Shiv Mahapuran carries the complete Ganesh narrative?
The thirteenth chapter of the Kumar Khand in the Rudra Samhita — the second of the seven Samhitas — which holds the complete story of Bhagavan Ganapati. The frame is a conversation between Brahma and Narad, recounted by Sut ji.
Shiva laughed at his own wounded Ganas as they came in slowly, and told Brahma of the boy's might
Meanwhile Narad arrived with Vishnu, Indra and all the Devas, who asked Shiva which Lila he had begun. Seeing the wounded Ganas coming in slowly, Shankar laughed and told Brahma of the mighty boy at his door who had felled his attendants and defeated his Ganas by force.
Ganesh pulled at Brahma's beard — and Brahma himself says he went there deluded by ignorance
Ganesh grew angry at the sight of him and began pulling out his beard. Read the signal, the speaker says: Brahma himself states in the Shiv Mahapuran that, not knowing that particular matter, deluded by ignorance he went there with the Rishis.
Narad told Shiva the Mahalila had removed the pride of his Ganas and of the Devas alike, and asked him to end it
That by performing a Mahalila Shiva had removed the pride of his Ganas — and by giving this boy strength had destroyed the pride of the Devas too. Now, Narad says, do not continue the Lila; honour and protect the Ganas and the Devas, do not indulge him further, and kill Ganesh.
Narad's six-shloka stuti to calm Parvati — Jagadamba namastubhyam
A stuti of only six shlokas, a salutation to Jagadamba — the transcript gives its opening as जगदंब नमस्तुभ्यं शिवाय च नमस्तुते, चंडिकाय नमस्तुभ्यं कल्याणै च नमस्तुते — asking her to be calm and pleased.
The Mundi who went to lead the people of Tripura off the path was no ordinary person, and Narad was his first disciple
Understand it this way, the speaker says — this is why we say do swadhyaya. When Bhagavan Shiva had to destroy Tripura, study once how he made the whole planning of the Tripura nash, and you will come to know. The one who went there in the form of a Mundi to lead them off the path was no ordinary person: whose avatar is the Mundi? Bhagavan Shri Narayana himself became that Mundi and went. He himself got his hair shaved and reached there; and when he reached and nobody at all was listening to him, who became his first disciple? Narad ji himself went and became one. Whose first diksha happened? Narad ji's, in the Mundi. And all the rakshasas of Tripura would be initiated by these and would get themselves slain — the minister will destroy them; will the devatas come in person?
What do the puranas say about rakshasas and curses?
In the puranas, the speaker says, you will find that whichever rakshasas there have been, they were cursed by someone. Ravan was so great in pride, so great a wrongdoer, with a thousand vices inside him — but who was he? Jai and Vijay, the doorkeepers of Bhagavan Shri Narayan, who took birth in the forms of Ravan and Kumbhakaran; they had to take birth, because a curse was given to both of them by Narad ji.
What is the upaya for the increase of intellect in students?
It has already been told, he says: the Sankatnashan Ganesh Stotram. He tells Siddharth Singh ji that vidyarthi labhate vidya stands written in it — students obtain vidya. Read the phalashruti: from continuously reciting the Sankatnashan Ganesh Stotra for six months, it stands written plainly, taken from the Narad Puran, said by Bhagavan Narad. Read it once and see; there will be considerable increase of intellect.
Why does Indra go to Brahma, then Vishnu, then Shiva in the kathas?
He asks why, when calamity falls upon Devraj Indra, he goes to Brahma ji, even knowing that it was Brahma ji who gave the boon — why does he not go straight to Vishnu ji or directly to Shiva ji? Because a system has been made there. In every katha: they went to Brahma ji, they went to Vishnu ji, Vishnu ji said this will not happen here, come to Shiva ji, and then they reached there. And many times it has happened that they went to Shiva ji and Shiva ji went to Vishnu ji. Is there a lack of capacity in these three devatas?
The Kalika Purana makes clear how Varaha, Sharabha, Bhagavati Janaki and Shri Krishna are all connected with the Kamakhya kshetra
If you wish to know it better, he says, do yourself a kindness and study the Kalika Purana once; it will all become clear how Varaha, Sharabha, Bhagavati Janaki and Shri Krishna are all connected with the Kamakhya kshetra. And this is only speech — everything will be known when Bhagavati shows grace and your diksha takes place in a proper kula. Then, when you go to make some mantra siddha, especially one of your own kula parampara, it will be known; as when you read about Bhagavati Baglamukhi and find that several of her mantras have Rishi Narada.
