What should those who wish to treat the Mother as a mother do instead?
If you are to do japa treating the Mother as mother, the speaker says, then do japa of Durga ji's name itself. In the Mundamala Tantra a full description is given of what comes of doing japa of Durga's name: japa Durga's name day and night. He adds that a listener had sent him the matter that a devi sadhak should do japa of ten thousand — one ayuta — of the Durga name daily, with its whole mahatmya described, and asks why people do not promote that.
