प्रचण्डचण्डिकाकवचम्
The goddess says she has heard and grasped all the well-hidden vidyās of Chinnamastā from her lord, and now asks for the armour called Trailokyavijaya that he had promised. Bhairava answers that it is made of every vidyā, gives victory over gods and asuras, and by wearing and reading it Brahmā, Nārāyaṇa and Rudra are the maker, keeper and destroyer of the worlds; it is never to be given to another's disciples or to the undevoted, only to a devoted disciple dearer than one's own life. Its seer is Bhairava, its metre virāṭ, its deity Chinnamastakā, and it is applied to victory over the three worlds and to liberation. Hūṃkāra guards the head, the three-syllabled vidyā the forehead and face, śrīṃ hrīṃ hūṃ aiṃ the eyes, the vidyā beginning and ending in praṇava the ears, the vidyā ending vajravairocanīye hūṃ phaṭ svāhā the nose, the great sixteen-syllabled vidyā with śrīṃ, māyā, kūrca and the vāgbhava the face; Chinnamastā with her śakti, Varṇinī and Ḍākinī, guard the face and all round; the vidyā beginning with ramā guards the tongue, with lajjā the throat, with kūrca the heart, with vāk the breasts, enclosed in ramā the sides, in māyā the navel, in kūrca the back, in the vāgbhava the middle; the great vidyā bright as ten million suns guards the thighs, hrīṃ hūṃ Varṇinī the knees, śrīṃ hrīṃ hūṃ Ḍākinī the feet, and she who dwells in all vidyās every limb. Ekaliṅgā, Yoginī, Ḍākinī, Mahābhairavī, Bhairavī, Indrākṣī, Asitāṅgī and Saṃhāriṇī, the eight śaktis with their choppers, guard the eight directions; then krīṃ krīṃ krīṃ, hūṃ hūṃ, hrīṃ hrīṃ, Dakṣiṇā Kālikā and svāhā guard the directions again, Mahākālī with her sword the north-east; the mantra of Tārā — tāra, māyā, vadhū, kūrca and phaṭ — with Tārā holding sword and chopper guards above, hrīṃ strīṃ hūṃ phaṭ with Ekajaṭā the underworld, and Nīlasarasvatī with Tārā the sky. Whoever wears and reads this armour becomes the terrible Bhairava called Krodha, maker and unmaker of gods, asuras and sages, at whose command Madhumatī comes to him and the ḍākinīs and yakṣiṇīs take his orders. Read once after worshipping the goddess with the root mantra, it gives the fruit of a year's worship; written on birch bark and worn in a golden amulet on the right arm or throat with restrained speech, it brings all lordship and the three worlds under his sway, Lakṣmī in his house, Vāṇī on his lips, and Brahmā's missile and every weapon turn gentle on his body. But whoever worships Chinnamastā without knowing it soon meets death by a blow from a weapon.देवी कहती हैं कि उन्होंने अपने स्वामी से छिन्नमस्ता की सब गुप्त विद्याएँ सुन और समझ ली हैं, और अब त्रैलोक्यविजय नाम का वह कवच माँगती हैं जिसका वचन दिया गया था। भैरव उत्तर देते हैं कि यह सब विद्याओं से बना है, देव और असुरों पर विजय देता है, और इसे धारण करने और पढ़ने से ब्रह्मा, नारायण और रुद्र लोकों के कर्ता, पालक और संहर्ता हैं; यह दूसरे के शिष्यों या अभक्तों को कभी न दिया जाए, केवल प्राणों से भी प्रिय भक्त शिष्य को। इसके ऋषि भैरव, छन्द विराट्, देवता छिन्नमस्तका हैं और विनियोग त्रैलोक्यविजय और मुक्ति में है। हूंकार सिर की, तीन अक्षरों वाली विद्या माथे और मुख की, श्रीं ह्रीं हूं ऐं आँखों की, प्रणव से आरम्भ और अन्त वाली विद्या कानों की, वज्रवैरोचनीये हूं फट् स्वाहा पर समाप्त विद्या नाक की, श्रीं, माया, कूर्च और वाग्बीज वाली षोडशाक्षरी महाविद्या मुख की रक्षा करती है; अपनी शक्ति सहित छिन्नमस्ता, वर्णिनी और डाकिनी मुख और चारों ओर की रक्षा करती हैं; रमा से आरम्भ विद्या जीभ की, लज्जा से गले की, कूर्च से हृदय की, वाक् से स्तनों की, रमा से सम्पुटित पार्श्वों की, माया से नाभि की, कूर्च से पीठ की, वाग्बीज से मध्य की; करोड़ों सूर्यों जैसी महाविद्या जाँघों की, ह्रीं हूं वर्णिनी घुटनों की, श्रीं ह्रीं हूं डाकिनी पैरों की, और सब विद्याओं में स्थित नित्या सब अंगों की रक्षा करती है। एकलिङ्गा, योगिनी, डाकिनी, महाभैरवी, भैरवी, इन्द्राक्षी, असितांगी और संहारिणी, कर्तरी सहित आठ शक्तियाँ, आठ दिशाओं की रक्षा करती हैं; फिर क्रीं क्रीं क्रीं, हूं हूं, ह्रीं ह्रीं, दक्षिणा कालिका और स्वाहा दिशाओं की फिर रक्षा करते हैं, खड्गधारिणी महाकाली ईशान की; तारा का मन्त्र — तार, माया, वधू, कूर्च और फट् — खड्ग-कर्तरी धारण करने वाली तारा के साथ ऊपर की, ह्रीं स्त्रीं हूं फट् एकजटा के साथ पाताल की, और तारा सहित नीलसरस्वती आकाश की रक्षा करती है। जो इस कवच को धारण कर पढ़ता है वह क्रोध नाम का भीम भैरव होता है, देव, असुर और मुनियों का कर्ता और हर्ता, जिसकी आज्ञा से मधुमती उसके पास आती है और डाकिनियाँ तथा यक्षिणियाँ उसकी आज्ञा मानती हैं। मूल मन्त्र से देवी की पूजा कर एक बार पढ़ने पर यह एक वर्ष की पूजा का फल देता है; भोजपत्र पर लिखकर सोने की गुटिका में दाहिनी भुजा या गले पर मौन रहकर धारण करने से वह सब ऐश्वर्य पाकर तीनों लोकों को वश में करता है, उसके घर में लक्ष्मी और मुख में वाणी रहती है, और ब्रह्मास्त्र आदि शस्त्र उसके शरीर पर सौम्य हो जाते हैं। पर जो इसे जाने बिना छिन्नमस्ता को भजता है वह शीघ्र ही शस्त्र के प्रहार से मृत्यु पाता है।
