श्रीविष्णुसहस्रनामस्तोत्रम्

Vishnu Sahasranama — The thousand names of Viṣṇu

Yudhishthira asks the dying Bhishma a plain question: is there one deity, one refuge, one thing worth praising, that gets a person through everything? Bhishma's answer is this hymn — not an argument but an inventory, a thousand names run through in 108 verses, each one a different way of saying the same thing: Vishnu as creator, sustainer, destroyer, time itself, the self within the self. It is recited daily across Vaishnava and Smarta households alike, one of the most widely chanted texts in the tradition.
