Brahmayāmala · as given in the Mantra Mahārṇava

त्रैलोक्यमंगलं सूर्यकवचम्

Surya Kavacham (Brahmayamala) — The Sun's armour called "the blessing of the three worlds"

A kavaca is a spoken armour: each verse names a power to stand guard over a part of the body. Here the guards are the Sun's own mantras, from the eight-syllable mantra down to the single seed-syllable, and the verses end with the fruit of reciting the armour and the way to wear it written on birch bark. See also Kavach and Surya.
