Panchamukha Hanuman Kavacham (Sudarshana Samhita) — The armour of the five-faced Hanumān
Author Shiva (as spoken to Parvati)Verses 54, anuṣṭubh metrePāṭha Sudarśana Saṃhitā, as given in the Mantra Mahārṇava
A Kavach of Hanuman in his five-faced form: the monkey face to the east, the Man-lion to the south, Garuḍa to the west, the Boar to the north and the horse face above. Pārvatī asks for it, and Śiva first speaks of whom it should be given to. Garuḍa then gives the meditation on the ten-armed lord, and the mantras follow, each with its seed-syllables (Bija Mantra) and each guarding one direction. The last verses tell what comes of reciting it once, twice, and up to ten times.
