Kalabhairava Ashtakam — Eight verses to the lord of Kāśī

A fast, drum-like hymn in the pañcacāmara metre to Kaal Bhairava, the fierce form of Shiva who is the guardian lord of Kashi. Every verse piles up his marks (the snake for a sacred thread, the moon on his head, the skull garland, the dog) and lands on the same words: I worship Kālabhairava, lord of the city of Kāśī.

English sense

The king of the gods serves his holy lotus feet. A snake is his sacred thread, the moon is on his head, and he is full of mercy. Nārada and crowds of yogis bow to him. He is clothed only by the sky. I worship Kālabhairava, lord of the city of Kāśī.
