जय जय गिरिबरराज किसोरी

Jai Jai Girivar Raj Kishori — Sītā's prayer to Bhavānī, and Gaurī's blessing

In Janaka's garden at Janakpur, Sītā has just seen Rāma and cannot forget him. She goes back to the temple of Parvati, folds her hands and speaks: victory to the daughter of the mountain king, to the one who gazes on the moon that is Śiva's face, to the mother of Gaṇeśa and Skanda. Then she asks nothing aloud, because Bhavānī already knows. The Goddess answers with a garland, a smile and a blessing that is sung on its own as "Mana jāhi rācheu".

Verse 235c3
