दशावतारस्तोत्रम्

Dashavatara Stotram (Gita Govinda) — Pralaya payodhi jale: the ten avatāras

Jayadeva begins his poem of love by remembering who the lover is. Ten short verses pass through the ten forms, each fixing one picture: the Fish holding the Veda in the flood, the earth resting on the Boar's tusk like the mark on the moon. In this list the Buddha is the ninth form and Balarāma the eighth; Krishna is the one who takes them all.
