For at least 11 days after removal, chant the chosen deity's thousand names (Sahasranama) while purifying the home with Panchamrita, Panchagavya, and Tulsi leaves, and smear or spray the threshold with cow dung or Panchagavya.

Every follower of Sanatana Dharma worships household arms and tools on Vijayadashami — bathing them with Panchamrita, Panchagavya, and Gangajal, applying Roli, Kumkum, and Tilak, and dedicating them at the altar before the Goddess.

Men and unmarried individuals wear it on the right wrist, married women on the left; it need not be removed during birth/death impurity, but if exposed should be cleaned with Gangajal, Panchagavya, or Panchamrita before being shown incense/lamp and re-worn.

Coat it in ghee, pour a stream of fresh milk over it, bathe it in Panchamrita and water while reciting Devi Suktam or Atharvashirsha, then recite the target deity's Kavach or mantra over it — the same method used to consecrate a Mangalsutra before marriage for lifelong protection.

If health permits, perform the puja across all four three-hour Prahars — Abhishekam with milk, Panchamrit, or water; Shringara with flowers and Bilva leaves; Naivedya offerings; and Aarti (camphor waved five times if the hymn isn't known) — closing each Prahar.
