श्वेताश्वतरोपनिषत्
Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad
The Upaniṣad of the Kṛṣṇa Yajurveda that opens with a circle of seekers asking what the cause of the world is, and answers with the one God who rules all causes: known through meditation, the yoga of breath and mind, and the syllable Om; hidden in all beings as the inner Self; called Rudra, Śiva and the Lord; the master of māyā and the one to whom the seeker goes for refuge. It closes with the sage Śvetāśvatara teaching it, and with the call for devotion to God and to the teacher. Our own translation, mantra by mantra.
