Ṛgveda
The oldest of the Vedas: hymns of the seers to Agni, Indra, Soma, Savitṛ, Vāk and the other gods, in ten maṇḍalas with the khila hymns beside them. Its most-recited sūktas come first: the Puruṣa-sūkta, the Nāsadīya-sūkta on creation, the sūkta of the Gāyatrī, the sūkta that ends with the tryambakam verse, the Śrī-sūkta and the Devī-sūkta; the whole saṃhitā then follows in order, sūkta by sūkta, from the first maṇḍala. प्रथमं मण्डलम्
Maṇḍala 1 मण्डल 1
The first maṇḍala: hymns by many seers to Agni, Indra, the Aśvins, the Maruts, Uṣas and the other gods. प्रथम मण्डल: अनेक ऋषियों के सूक्त, अग्नि, इन्द्र, अश्विनों, मरुतों, उषा और अन्य देवताओं के लिए।
द्वितीयं मण्डलम्

The second maṇḍala, the family book of the Gṛtsamadas: hymns to Agni, Indra and the other gods. द्वितीय मण्डल, गृत्समद कुल का मण्डल: अग्नि, इन्द्र और अन्य देवताओं के सूक्त।
तृतीयं मण्डलम्
Maṇḍala 3 मण्डल 3
The third maṇḍala, the family book of Viśvāmitra and his line. It closes with the sūkta that holds the Gāyatrī. तृतीय मण्डल, विश्वामित्र और उनके कुल का मण्डल। इसका अन्तिम सूक्त गायत्री मन्त्र वाला सूक्त है।

The fourth maṇḍala, the family book of Vāmadeva: hymns to Agni, Indra, the Ṛbhus and others. चतुर्थ मण्डल, वामदेव का मण्डल: अग्नि, इन्द्र, ऋभुओं और अन्य देवताओं के सूक्त।
पञ्चमं मण्डलम्

The fifth maṇḍala, the family book of the Atri line: hymns to Agni, Indra, the Maruts, Mitra and Varuṇa. पञ्चम मण्डल, अत्रि कुल का मण्डल: अग्नि, इन्द्र, मरुतों, मित्र और वरुण के सूक्त।
षष्ठं मण्डलम्

The sixth maṇḍala, the family book of Bharadvāja: hymns to Agni, Indra, Pūṣan and others. षष्ठ मण्डल, भरद्वाज का मण्डल: अग्नि, इन्द्र, पूषा और अन्य देवताओं के सूक्त।
सप्तमं मण्डलम्
Maṇḍala 7 मण्डल 7
The seventh maṇḍala, the family book of Vasiṣṭha. Its sūkta to the Maruts ends with the tryambakam verse. सप्तम मण्डल, वसिष्ठ का मण्डल। इसका मरुतों वाला एक सूक्त त्र्यम्बकम् मन्त्र पर समाप्त होता है।
अष्टमं मण्डलम्

The eighth maṇḍala, largely of the Kaṇva line: hymns to Indra, Agni, the Aśvins and others. अष्टम मण्डल, अधिकतर कण्व कुल का: इन्द्र, अग्नि, अश्विनों और अन्य देवताओं के सूक्त।
नवमं मण्डलम्
Maṇḍala 9 मण्डल 9
The ninth maṇḍala: hymns to Soma as it is pressed and purified. नवम मण्डल: सोम के सूक्त, जब वह निचोड़ा और छाना जाता है।
दशमं मण्डलम्
Maṇḍala 10 मण्डल 10
The tenth maṇḍala: late and wide-ranging hymns, including the Puruṣa-sūkta, the Devī-sūkta and the Nāsadīya-sūkta on creation. दशम मण्डल: बाद के और विविध विषयों वाले सूक्त, जिनमें पुरुषसूक्त, देवीसूक्त और सृष्टि पर नासदीय सूक्त हैं।

The khilas: supplementary hymns handed down alongside the saṃhitā, among them the Śrī-sūkta. खिल: संहिता के साथ चले आए पूरक सूक्त, जिनमें श्रीसूक्त भी है।
