Adhyāya 1: Samanvaya अध्याय 1: समन्वय

Harmony: all the Upaniṣads, read in context, point to Brahman as the cause of the world, including passages whose words seem to name something else. समन्वय: प्रसंग में पढ़े जाएँ तो सब उपनिषद् ब्रह्म को जगत् का कारण बताते हैं, वे वचन भी जिनके शब्द किसी और का नाम लगते हैं।

Adhyāya 2: Avirodha अध्याय 2: अविरोध

No conflict: the teaching is defended against objections from tradition and reasoning, other systems' accounts of the world's cause are examined, and apparent conflicts among the Upaniṣads on creation, the self and the senses are resolved. अविरोध: स्मृति और तर्क की आपत्तियों से उपदेश की रक्षा, जगत् के कारण के विषय में दूसरे दर्शनों के मतों की परीक्षा, और सृष्टि, जीव और इन्द्रियों के विषय में उपनिषदों के आपसी विरोध का समाधान।

Adhyāya 3: Sādhana अध्याय 3: साधन

The means: the soul's journey and return that teach detachment, the nature of Brahman, how the Upaniṣads' meditations are to be combined, and the place of works in the pursuit of knowledge. साधन: जीव का जाना और लौटना जो वैराग्य सिखाता है, ब्रह्म का स्वरूप, उपनिषदों की उपासनाओं को कैसे जोड़ा जाए, और ज्ञान की साधना में कर्म का स्थान।

चतुर्थोऽध्यायः — फलाध्यायः

Adhyāya 4: Phala अध्याय 4: फल

The fruit: repeated meditation and its effect on past and future deeds, the departure of the knower, the path of light, and the state of the freed self. फल: बार-बार की उपासना और पिछले तथा आगे के कर्मों पर उसका प्रभाव, ज्ञानी का शरीर छोड़ना, ज्योति का मार्ग, और मुक्त आत्मा की अवस्था।
