Sadashiva Stotram — Salutations to Śaṅkara, whose forms are the world
Verses 12

A hymn for the worship of Sadashiva. Almost every verse ends with the same salute, "salutation, salutation". It begins with the forms through which Śiva is seen in the world, goes on to what lies beyond them, and ends with the instruction to please the lord of the world with this hymn in worship.

धरापोऽग्निमरुद्व्योमसमखेंद्वर्कमूर्तये ॥
सर्वभूतान्तरस्थाय शंकराय नमो नमः ॥ १ ॥

sarvabhūtāntarasthāya śaṃkarāya namo namaḥ

धरा-अपः-अग्नि-मरुत्-व्योम-समखा-इंदु-अर्क-मूर्तयेसर्व-भूत-अन्तर-स्थायशंकराय नमः नमः
हिन्दी अर्थ

पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, यजमान, चन्द्र और सूर्य जिनकी मूर्तियाँ हैं, सब भूतों के भीतर रहने वाले शङ्कर को नमस्कार, नमस्कार।

English sense

Salutation, salutation to Śaṅkara, whose forms are earth, water, fire, wind, ether, the sacrificer, moon and sun, who dwells within all beings.

हिन्दी अर्थ

वेदान्त में निवास करने वाले, श्रुति-रूप, श्रुति के जन्मदाता, इन्द्रियों से परे, तेज, शाश्वत को नमस्कार, नमस्कार।

English sense

Salutation, salutation to him who has made his home in the end of the Veda, who is the Veda, from whom the Veda is born, beyond the senses, the splendour, the eternal.

bhavāya bhavasaṃbhūtaduḥkhahaṃtre namo'stu te

स्थूल-सूक्ष्म-विभागाभ्याम् अनिर्देश्यायशंभवे भवायभव-संभूत-दुःख-हंत्रेनमः अस्तु ते
हिन्दी अर्थ

स्थूल और सूक्ष्म के विभाग से जो नहीं बताए जा सकते उन शम्भु, भव, भव से उत्पन्न दुःख को हरने वाले, तुम्हें नमस्कार हो।

English sense

Salutation be to you, Śambhu, who cannot be pointed out by the divisions of gross and subtle, Bhava, destroyer of the sorrow born of worldly existence.

Salutation, salutation to the all-knowing, far beyond the path of reasoning, giver of the fruit of austerities, bountiful with the four aims of life.

त्रिमूर्ति के मूल, त्रिनेत्र को नमस्कार, नमस्कार; तीन धामों वाले, धाम-रूप, जन्म को नष्ट करने वाले को नमस्कार, नमस्कार।

English sense

Salutation, salutation to the root of the three forms, the three-eyed; salutation, salutation to him of three abodes, whose form is light, the destroyer of birth.

हिन्दी अर्थ

देवों और असुरों के शिर के रत्नों की किरणों से लाल हुए चरणों वाले, सुन्दर, अपनी प्रिया को अपना आधा देने वाले को नमस्कार, नमस्कार।

English sense

Salutation, salutation to the beloved, whose feet are reddened by the rays of the crest-jewels of gods and demons, who gave half of himself to his own beloved.
