श्रीरङ्गनाथाष्टकम्

Ranganatha Ashtakam — Eight verses to the Lord of Śrīraṅgam

Each verse piles up names for one sleeping Lord: the one who lies on the serpent, on the banyan leaf, on the milk ocean, on the river island of the Kāverī. The refrain does the praying: ramatāṃ mano me, may my mind rest and delight in him. The last line of the eighth verse is a picture to carry away: the discus in the hand, Gaṅgā water at the feet, a bird for a vehicle, a serpent for a bed.
