ईश्वर उवाच — ईश्वर ने कहा Ishvara said

आराध्य मातश्चरणाम्बुजे ते ब्रह्मादयो विस्तृतकीर्तिमापुः ।
अन्ये परं वा विभवं मुनीन्द्राः परां श्रियं भक्तिभरेण चान्ये ॥१॥

anye paraṃ vā vibhavaṃ munīndrāḥ parāṃ śriyaṃ bhaktibhareṇa cānye

हे माता, तुम्हारे चरण-कमलों की आराधना करके ब्रह्मा आदि ने विस्तृत कीर्ति पाई; महर्षि-इन्द्रों ने परम वैभव पाया, और अन्य लोगों ने भक्ति के भार से परम श्री पाई।

English sense

Worshipping the lotus of your feet, O mother, Brahmā and the others attained far-spreading fame; the great Indras among sages attained the highest glory, and others, through the weight of their devotion, attained the highest fortune.

मैं नवचन्द्रमौलि (शिव) की देवी मातंगिनी को नमस्कार करता हूँ, जो चन्द्रकला को आभूषण बनाए हुए हैं, और जो आम्नाय से प्राप्त अर्थ को प्रेमपूर्वक जगाती हैं।

English sense

I bow to the goddess Mātaṅginī, crowned with the digit of the moon of the new moon-crested one (Śiva), who lovingly awakens the meaning established by the attainment of the sacred tradition.

bhajaṃti ye devi mahīpatīnāṃ vrajaṃti te saṃpadamādareṇa

जो अपने दोनों चरणों से मार्ग को थपथपाते हुए उसे सफल बनाती हैं, वीणा धारण किए हुए; उन सुहृदया, लीलामयी, शुक धारण करने वाली, शुद्ध नितंब-बिम्ब वाली मातंगिनी को मैं आनंदित करता हूँ।
