Matangi Stava (Rudrayamala) — A praise of Mātaṅgī in ten verses

A hymn to Matangi, told here as the wife of Shiva and the presiding goddess of speech. It begins with the glory won by worshipping her lotus feet. Then it describes her piece by piece: the tinkling anklets, the lute in her hand, the hips in a loose cloth, the three folds of the waist, the dark hair with a kadamba garland, and the smiling face. The last verse promises the highest fortune to those who praise her with devotion. The same hymn is on this site from the Mantra Mahārṇava, in a different recension with the verses divided differently.
