Verse 1
jānaki tvāṃ namasyāmi sarvapāpapraṇāśinīm
Jānakī, I bow to you, who wipe out every sin.
The Purāṇa gives these verses to Hanuman at the moment he stands before Sītā. Almost every line begins with the same act, namāmi, I bow, and each gives her a new face: knowledge, nature, the lotus-dweller, the daughter of the milk ocean, the moon's sister. The last line turns from bowing to a promise to worship her always with the heart.

Jānakī, I bow to you, who wipe out every sin.
