A hymn in praise of the Guru built on one refrain, na guror adhikam, "nothing is higher than the guru". Each verse names a set of things people honour: life and family, the stages of life, worship and yoga, the great vidyās, the avatāras of Viṣṇu, the sacred rivers and cities, the places of Kṛṣṇa's childhood. Then it sets the guru above all of them. This is not the Guru Stotram that begins "akhaṇḍamaṇḍalākāram"; it is a different hymn.

Whoever recites this hymn daily is a knower of liberation and most blessed. Whatever is to be known within the brahmāṇḍa — none of it is higher than the guru.
